ITALY – Lerici 2013 – I TORI BIANCHI

Tori Bianchi 2013At the 2013 Beach Rugby Festival in Lerici, titled “Una Meta per Cosimo” (www.amicidicosimo.it) the Tori Bianchi from Genova overcame Cogoleto in the final with a score of 8-5 to take the title in Liguria, which this year has been included as an official leg in the Italian National Beach Rugby Championship.

Victory currently puts the Tori Bianchi in 2nd place in the general classification, which goes towards qualification for the 2013 Italian Masters final at the end of July. Now they will now move on the Marseille Beach Fives where next weekend they will endeavour to defend their 2012 Champions title. However, with the 2013 tournament in Marseille now officially added by the Lega Italiana Beach Rugby (LIBR) as a qualifying leg in the Italian Domestic Championship, the Tori Bianchi won’t be the only Italian side lining out. Of particular note will also be the presence of the Maccarese Roma, one of Italy’s legendary Beach 5’s Clubs, who now concentrate on playing their Beach Rugby around Europe.

What are the chances of an all Italian final in France next weekend ? Not to mention that Marseille is also the 1st Leg in the new EBRA Beach 5’s Series. Stay tuned for updates and results.
